Party size changes everything
The vehicle and the guide are costed per vehicle, not per head. That one fact reshapes the arithmetic.

The exclusive-use crossover
Whole-house rates are quoted for the property, not per head. So as your party grows, the per-person cost falls — while a camp’s does not.
The crossover is usually around six people. Above eight, taking a house is frequently cheaper per person than booking the same party into a camp, and you get your own cook, guide and vehicle as well.
If you are travelling alone
Single supplements are real and occasionally steep. Three things help: travelling in low season, when some camps waive them; choosing camps that have single rooms rather than charging a supplement on a double; and asking explicitly, which we always do.
